About
Scout is an easy-to-use application monitoring tool that continuously tracks down database queries, performance abnormalities, sources of memory bloat and more. It helps in identifying if background jobs are spending too long in the queue and users can also send performance metrics to the StatsD-compatible system with scout_statsd. This tool instruments the dependencies that users would expect such as template rendering, HTTP calls, and database queries. Scout’s tracing feature ties bottlenecks to the source code, eradicating guesswork. The instrumentation is combined with Scout’s one of kind profilers, ScoutProf to monitor the app’s custom code without complex custom configuration. Every trace and stack frame is analysed for slow database queries, memory bloat, poor trending performance and more. The results are collected together and presented on the dashboard.
